The new University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital opens in December 2016. This is your chance for a once-in-a-lifetime sneak peek during our community open house! Please join us for tours of the new hospital, light refreshments, and special activities.

    GPS Directions/Address: 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, IA 52242
  • If coming from I-80 West/East, take exit 242 to Highway 6. Turn left on Highway 6, and proceed to Hawkins Drive. Turn right on Hawkins Drive. UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital will be on your left hand side.
  • If coming from Hwy. 218, take exit 93 (Melrose Ave.) toward University Heights. Turn left on Melrose Ave. and proceed to Hawkins Drive. Turn left on Hawkins Drive. UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital will be on your right hand side.
    Free parking will be available in the following locations:
  • Ramps 1, 2* and 3 (entrances near University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics main entrance, off of Hawkins Drive, directly across from Kinnick Stadium) and Ramp 4 (entrance on South Hospital Drive)
  • Lot 43, behind Kinnick Stadium (entrances at Melrose Avenue or Hawkins Drive)
  • Lot 46, next to Carver Hawkeye Arena
  • Lot 75, the Arena Commuter Parking Lot, across the street from the Carver Hawkeye Arena
  • Lot 49, across from University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital (entrance on Melrose Avenue)

*We encourage those who need special accommodations to utilize hospital parking ramp 2.

Volunteers and signage will guide visitors to available parking.
